This weekend the Herd migrates to South Transcona seeking a second tournament championship.They open against the Transcona Classics who coincidently moved the Horns to the B side in last years tourney costing them the overall championship. "I remember that loss like it was yesterday, it still burns inside when I think of it" reflected Rick. "one good thing came out of it for me though, I watched Napoleon Dynamite pitch and I have copied his style on the mound and with the chicks"
The Summer GM is happy with the anticipated team participation for this weekend. "Pretty much everyone is gonna be there which is great, we have an issue with our problem child leaving to watch a soccer game, but we will do fine with the Elkhorn GM absent."
The team has seen a number of incidences where they have been second fiddle this year. "We've had concerts a number of times getting in the way of things, and now a soccer game!? To make it worse, a soccer game with no real meaning." cursed the Summer GM. "It's all about the booze, he loves the booze" said a disappointed Rob
.With the team playing well, and a solid line up including the return of Hugh, the Elkhorns should satisfy the fans this weekend.
1st game is at 7:20 Pm on Friday night! Be there, or die trying to get there!

With Hugh back, the Horns should easily take on all comers (in the Beer Gardens).
Friday game coming up on the 20th.
I will be there on Friday ( I hear there is beer there *wink*). In an effort to accommodate player development, I will be sitting out the less critical games on the weekend though.
The reality is, Stefanie has a fakking tourney in Steinbach on Sat/Sun so I may have some issues.
How is everyone else doing as far as attendance?
I think the Herd will do well this week...the old farts all have had lots of rest. A story for you all. you know the drill.
I even clicked on the "go to pictures tab"....it really told the story!
Hopefully we can get our game in on Wednesday before the tournament, as I think the team may be a little rusty.

About the new Jersey's.....
They are almost ready. There is still our sponsors logo to go on the back. Without our sponsor we have to pay the full amount for the jerseys ourselves. These jerseys should be good for a few years (as long as Hugh does not get hot sauce on his), making our dues going forward much less expensive as we can use their sponsorship for league dues and other things.
Be patient,,, we should get them soon (ish).
By the way, I am told they look great! Thanks Rick for your work on this one! (everyone clap for Rickster!)
Stats are in a new format,,,sorry,,,the perils of drinking and uploading. Hopefully you have Excel on your PC and can view the new format.
You will all be happy to know the worst player on the team will not be playing on Friday night (another sacrifice for the team to win).
I will keep track of the score, as in: no more asking what is the score & someone saying I'm not sure (no slight on Stephanie, she did a good job tonight AGAIN!)
I only want to win, so I am out!
Everyone knows; I am only out to have a drink & fortunately for most establishments that will not change. The only thing changing is we may win a few more games.
As Tony Robbins has taught us; THINK POSITIVE! I am positive we will do better with anyone else in the line-up.
