Don't Step on the Plate!

Yes, it happened again. Baseball's winning est manager did a no no last night.

After hitting an easy single, followed by a few over throws, the Summer GM waltzed home only to realize at the last second that he touched home plate. "I can't believe I did that" seethed a humble Summer GM. "I expect the rookies to make that kinda mistake, not our skilled players!"

This is the second time this year that the man who should know better did the ultimate Softball Nasty. "I sat down and discussed his future with the team and basically told him his 3rd strike will have him released" indicated the Elkhorn GM.

Truth of the matter is, that the game was not lost due to poor decision making while running the bases, it was lost by awkward defensive play. "Stuck on Third" last night was also "Stuck on Bunting!". "Alright this is enough of this crap!" yelled a vocal Hugh Glove. "Tiny Glove get in there, pinch in." instructed Hugh.

A hesitant Tiny moved in after lengthy discussion of possible sexual hold backs if Hugh continued with his tantrum!

Soon the bunts stopped, but too little, too late. A mercy rule loss was the end result.

"We shoulda done that much earlier" said Hugh, "I can't be expected to be a golden glover, a batting force and a coach, mind you, I could do it all, it's just not in my contract!" "Also, I never arrive on time, so there is no way I could manage!"

You can be sure the Herd won't be bunted to death like last night anytime soon.

Final Regular Season game is July 30th at Keeleyside Park, 6:20 pm!

Rick H. would never make a base running error like that. What part of don't touch home plate is the difficult part to grasp, or is it gasp? Does a round tripper use all the oxygen so that there is not enough to carry the signal to the brain "just pass the plate, don't touch it"?

In my day, you'd be riding the pine for an error like that!

Spoke with a gal about the home plate issue. She played for Smitty's a few years ago in the Canadian championships...

Her call is that it must have been bad 3rd base coaching, even at THAT level, they remind the players.

Summer GM off the hook once again....

I find it very to believe that the Summer GM stepped on home plate, it must be a lie, as we all know the summer gm NEVER GETS ON BASE!!!

Another "Finally!!!" from Hugh Glove! "Finally" was all I heard today from the might one! "The Summer GM FINALLY gives me my due and actually prints what I said 'word for word'!" was the first thing out of Hugh's mouth and secondly..."You are damn right I could do it all!"

Rumour has it that during the post game show at the teams sponsor, the Summer GM and Hugh have a side bet on the table for the next and final game of the season. A reliable, but did not want to be identified source stated the bet is based on that popular cable show Pinks! No casual observer, not the porn cable show, we are talking pink slips where both contestants put their respective hot rods on the line and whoever wins, wins it all!

My reliable source idicated the Summer GM and the 'Huge one' have put their positions with the HORN on the line.

When I called the Summer GM to confirm the rumor he provided me with the following quote, "I'll give up my favorite "missionary" position for that good old catholic "prayer" position if I lose! Obviously the Summer GM is feeling quite confident! Hugh Glove could not be reached for comment by the time of printing!

Yes, he has a manager...

Officially,, "no comment" on the bet...however my client feels confident based on Hughs' performance that there will be no issues.

Trading a 200o Concorde (with recent bills of $1500 for a Harley seems like a decent risk, especially with the summer GM's abilities. Yes abilities.

Note: Hugh has already indicated that instead of hitting the ball on a dime, he changed it to an area of approx 30 yds once the Summer GM upped the "anti".

We will see how,, and "if" this bet transpires.....rumours are that Hugh just might kick it up a notch for the first time this year.

Perhaps a ploy from the summer GM to get the most of his players? What a motivator!

My client will discuss the particulars of the bet with Hugh's right hand man....

Summer GM was unable to be reached for further comment.

I have seen both GM's in action...and it is my informed opinion that both get on base regularly (almost at will).

The fact that they chose to get on base with each other is not the issue.

I partially agree with GM watcher but I must say the Summer GM has a bet with Hugh Glove; who can place a hit. One beer per round. Hopefully Craig and/or Barb has a little extra cash on hand as I say Hugh gets at least 6 freebees.

A few casual observations:

I must say that I hear a lot of chirping from the two big fellows, but I don't think either one scored a run on Monday at the old ballpark.

Hopefully when you guys are betting on ball placement you actually have to get on base to collect.

On the touch the home plate issue, I totally agree that it was the third base coaches fault. What the hell was he doing as SGM rounded third. Hopefully he wasn't leaning against the dugout fence day- dreaming about that hot girl's t&a.

I called it from our dugout. I think Dan is aware of his mistake. Hey it can happen to the best of us.

To the strong Fan Base: Have a great day

The Guy in the Hot Corner

It's pretty darn clear that our casual observer is schizophrenic at the very least. That in itself is okay with me, I just wish I know who I was talking to at the particular moment. Is this a Jekyll and Hyde situation, or is it a hide the pickle situation? I beleive the guy in the hot corner is looking for action...with whom I am not certain!

Summer GM, we are counting on you to get our Guy in the hot corner laid, that way perhaps he will up his game in time for the playoff's.

BTW...casual hot guy in the corner...Kelly said you really are hot!!! In a casual kind of way!?!

I thought I might give the Summer GM a shot at the batting title next Monday...here's a link to help him improve his form...although I swear I heard his wife say that he's like a robot in bed already!

In order for the Summer GM to get Casual Observer laid as requested by Hugh Glove, the Summer GM needs to know Casual Observers sexual preference.

At this point it is unclear.
